It’s pouring rain and I spent too long curled up cozily with the three animals that share my house and now must dash out into the rain to milk the cow. But first, drumroll…. pcwhite, your rhyme is divine! Simple and sweet, a perfect title for this photo! Ash & Daniel, your entries gave me quite a laugh. Thanks all!
• • • Oooh, I can’t wait to see what you all come up with for this one…….
Leave a title, a caption, or a “mock conversation” in the comment section of this post and you’ll be in the running for a fabulous Wyoming grab-bag of goodies which includes one fat petrified squid, two fine obsidian arrowheads hand-knapped by MC, and a trio of dinosaur gizzard stones.
Yep, some dinosaurs were like chickens – they swallowed rocks which they then held in their gizzard and these tumbling stones helped them grind up their food. When the rocks literally lost their edge and no longer served their purpose, the dinosaur would expel them and swallow new ones. Sometimes, while wandering around here (this happens to be a very dino-dense area), one happens across a pile of large, smooth, perfectly polished stones, an anomaly among the jagged chert. And these lovelies are dinosaur gizzard stones, tumbled smooth in a dinosaurs intestinal tract millions of years ago.
Eesh. I can’t end this post on that note. Above: a super-cute, very-open-to-interpretation photo of Charlie and Eli. Eli is not a particularly large cat ~ I can hardly believe that Charlie was once so tiny!
