I got a question about whether Charlie is generally more or less chatty than wild coyotes, since he doesn’t have other coyotes to talk to.
I thought I’d share my answer with all of you, with an audio example just for fun.
Charlie is SUPER chatty. Way more than the wild coyotes out back. He talks to me (chatter), sings with me (howling), sings with the dogs (they bark), to Mike’s truck (when he returns), and he used to always sing when Eli meowed. He won’t sing to the other cats’ meows, but he does sing when I say ‘meow’ the way I used to say it to Eli. All together, he breaks into song multiple times a day.
The low voice you hear is Chloe – she gets loud at one point – well, she seems loud because Charlie’s voice fades for a moment when he jumps out the window to sing to the sunrise. Then he returns and dominates the room once again.
